Night Sweats
Dr. James D. Fontaine
Although several different medical problems can cause night sweats, they are a common symptom that women experience during perimenopause and menopause. They can be quite severe to the point of soaking the bed with the need to change clothes in the middle of the night. Men can also experience night sweats associated with andropause, as well. This troublesome issue occurs due to temperature dysregulation associated with hormone level changes, especially estrogen, progesterone and testosterone. Fortunately, we are very successful in eliminating this problem at Fontaine MD by optimizing hormone levels, whether you are perimenopausal or postmenopausal.
