Osteoporosis
Dr. James D. Fontaine
Osteoporosis is a condition where your bones become brittle and weak to the point that they can fracture with daily activities such as coughing, bending over to make the bed, or a minor fall. Once a fracture occurs, you are at a substantially increased risk for rapid deterioration of your health. The best treatment for osteoporosis is prevention with hormone optimization, good nutrition and exercise. The most important osteoporosis-related hormones for most of us are estradiol, testosterone and vitamin D. Studies have demonstrated that treatment with bioidentical hormones can reverse the bone loss associated with osteoporosis. Our Healthy Aging program decreases your risk for osteoporosis by optimizing hormones and improving your nutrition and exercise.
